Funding Sanctioned for Safer Drop Off and Collection at Faha NS

Statement by Brendan Griffin TD (FG) Kerry

KERRY Fine Gael TD, Brendan Griffin, has received confirmation that additional funding has been allocated to Faha National School for a safer drop off and collection area.

Deputy Griffin says that this funding is vitally important, as Faha NS is a growing school located on a busy and dangerous section of the R563 Killarney to Milltown Road.

“I am delighted that this funding has been allocated, as there were serious concerns about the dangers of the drop off and collection of small children at this section of busy roadway.

“This funding will allow for a safer system to be put in place so that the risk of future accidents will be reduced.

“I am grateful to the Department of Education for recognising the urgency of this case and I commend the school Principal and Board of Management for their successful application.

“This is extra good news for Faha NS, with additional accommodation and subsequent planning permission having also been approved for the school so far this year.

“There is great work going on at Faha NS and I hope these supports will allow the school community to continue to grow and prosper.”
