New Kenmare Hospital on Course for Completion in June 2013
KERRY Fine Gael TD, Brendan Griffin, has been told by the HSE that the new Kenmare Hospital is on course for completion in June 2013.
Jim Curran Head of Estates with the HSE told Deputy Griffin that the structure is now 99% complete, external windows and doors are installed and external cladding is 95% complete. He also said that the main drainage and services are in place and the main works being done in March are second fix joinery, internal finishes and commencing second fix mechanical and electrical installations.
Mr. Curran said that substantial completion of the new hospital is scheduled for the end of June 2013 and that the HSE will immediately commission and transfer patients to the new facility allowing the contractor demolish the existing hospital and complete the necessary landscaping and car-park works.
Deputy Griffin welcomed the update which also included an estimate that the total project completion is scheduled for Mid August.
